What is Hypnosis?

by Mary on March 4, 2010

[ad#holosync]What is Hypnosis? Even though most people aren’t aware of it, they have been hypnotized before. Anyone that has ever daydreamed or become lost in thought has experienced a form of relaxation hypnosis. This is much like if you were doing something, like driving, and when you got to where you were going, couldn’t remember driving there for much of the way. There are tons of examples of these situations that people experience every day.

When in a hypnotic state, the person’s consciousness goes in two directions, which are completely separate from each other. Consciously, you are aware of one thought process, and the rest is done in an unconscious state of mind. In hypnotherapy, you are usually still aware of some of the things that are happening in your world.

When you are with a therapist using hypnotherapy, you will probably be able to hear noises, and other things, but your conscious realization of these types of things aren’t as strong, since you are focusing more on what the therapist is telling you. People going into a trance state is a natural occurrence, and happens every day.

Usually, when working with a therapist, a trance like state is accomplished when the therapist talks in a rhythmic voice for some time that leads you to a path where you are much more suggestible than you would normally be. This is the main way that hypnosis is used.

In a hypnotic state, you become more relaxed and able to concentrate much more deeply, letting you zone in on your anxiety or problem while staying in a state of relaxation. For the most part, people can become much calmer and relaxed when they are in a trance state than when they are not. This state can be used to allow the person to stop the link between a memory, thought, or idea that causes pain and anxiety. It assists people in changing the things that need to be changed, and growing what needs to grow in their lives.

Suggestions are given in this state, allowing you to get what you want, or something that will be of great help to you, and while in this state, you more readily accept it than you would if you were not hypnotized. You are the one that controls your body and mind with relaxation hypnosis.

Through hypnosis, a person can learn how to have control over parts of their person that they normally would not have any control over.

Hypno- healing is something else that can be of great benefit, since it uses the natural healing ability of your body to allow you to heal from sickness. It is very important to realize that you can always come out of a trance state when you are ready. You will also only act on suggestions that seem right for you, so there is nothing to fear through hypnosis.

Hypnosis can benefit people in many ways, through using it therapeutically or for healing. Since you are always in control, there is no fear of doing or saying something you wouldn’t normally do or say.

Meditation guide / Hypnosis?

by Mary on May 6, 2010

Hi,
my question is about an Audio track – meditation guide/ hypnosis.
How do I know if a relaxation audio is a hypnosis thing?
I listened to it last night and felt great relaxation.
I felt great at the time but now I’m a bit freaked out that I may have been hypnotised?
If I was, is it detrimental to me? WHat are the dangers with hypnosis?
How do I know if it was just a meditation?
Is this kind of thing safe?
What is the difference between meditation and hypnosis?

Every time you "zone out" you’re in hypnosis.

Every time you watch a movie and get into it you’re in hypnosis.

Every time you succumb to an advertisement you’re proving hypnosis.

It’s nothing to freak out about.

Relax and enjoy the altered states of mind you discover within yourself.

Your brain is very powerful, but if you’re mentally healthy you’re unlikely to injure yourself with it.

<lol>
